Wyze recalls 320,000+ cameras after reports of fires and burns

You hate to see it, but it’s good to get the word out there when there’s a recall on popular tech products. In this case, Wyze is recalling its Solar Cam Pan device because there could be potential issues with the device if it is installed incorrectly. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission lists a little over 320,000 units that are out in the wild (via Android Authority).

You’ll want to get this taken care of ASAP

When it comes to the details, the Consumer Product Safety Commission states, “incorrect assembly instructions can lead consumers to accidentally puncture the lithium‑ion battery’s metal casing, causing the battery to rapidly overheat, posing a risk of serious injury or property damage from fire and burn hazards.”

As far as what the commission has seen, “the firm has received 13 consumer reports of the security cameras overheating, and six exploding and catching on fire, including six reports of consumers suffering minor burns.” As you can imagine, this can be a pretty serious issue.

Wyze does add that this recall is for Solar Cam Pan devices that were “purchased on or before April 3, 2026, only.” So, if you just ordered one, you should be good. However, be sure to check the model number; the one you don’t want is labeled “WYZESCPWH”.

What’s being done for those affected?

Well, Wyze is very clear that it will provide affected customers with a free replacement, a full refund, or a gift card. The easiest way to get your money back or a replacement will be if you purchased directly from Wyze.

However, if you bought it from a third party like Amazon, the brand will still make things right by offering a refund via a check or gift card. Of course, if you’re no longer confident about Wyze, you can always take the money you get and buy something new.

We have a few suggestions if you’re not sure what you’re looking for.

This is a very serious issue, so if you are a Wyze Solar Cam Pan product owner, you’ll want to email recall@wyze.com or call their toll-free number at 888-832-7226. This phone line is open Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 6 pm CT.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
